BONNERS FERRY - Priest River won the team title at the Bonners Ferry Invitational on Saturday.

John Morris (160) of Timberlake defeated Troy Sines of St. Maries 3-0 and Dylan White (285) of Timberlake pinned Ty Beare of St. Maries in their championship bouts. Bonners Ferry was third.

"We could have always done better," second-year Timberlake coach Ryan Montang said. "This is the best we've done since I've been coaching here. This was a good preview of the district tournament with all of the teams in the (Intermountain) league here."

Timberlake's Kody Honglso (112) finished second, losing to Cole Jerome of Kellogg in the finals 5-0. Rocco Wingfield (103), Ryan Hill (125) and Colton Fullweiler (135) finished third and Kyle White (152) were fourth for Timberlake.

St. Maries finished sixth with five top-four placers. Josh Cox lost to Mike Riley of Priest River by pin at 189, Derrick Charles (152) was third and Joe Bloomsburg (130) was fourth for the Lumberjacks.

"Our kids did great," St. Maries coach Rod Cochrane said. "We're kind of a lean team. We don't run a lot of kids, but they worked hard. We're coming down to the end of the season, so we'll have to start working hard in the wrestling room."
