Karaoke contest winner will compete in Vegas

COEUR d'ALENE - Several singers have advanced in the qualifying rounds in a local karaoke contest offering a trip to Las Vegas to compete for prize money.

Qualifers in the first three weeks of competition are: Tammy Johnson, Dalton Gardens; Kat Yockey, Coeur d'Alene; Julie Darlas, Coeur d'Alene; Desiree Angell, Hayden; Candace Hop, Hayden; Rhonda Reed, Sandpoint; Mike Greenwood, Spokane Valley; Tara Ramirez, Hayden; Jacque Lozier, Post Falls; Natasha Gordon, Post Falls; Gary McWilliams, Cataldo.

The preliminary competition continues at Sunset Bowling Center, 202 W. Sunset Ave., 8 p.m. Tuesdays through May.

Weekly winners will move on to compete in the local finals. The finals winner will earn a trip to Vegas, including airfare and hotel accommodations.

The top winner in Las Vegas will receive $5,000 and get to perform prior to the featured act at Club Xpo. Second prize is worth $2,000, and third, $1,000.

The International Bowling Karaoke Superstar Contest is run in bowling centers across the United States.
