SNOW: Dig in and dig out

| December 8, 2010 4:19 AM

First I would like to compliment the snow plow people on the job they've done so far this year, and the use of the snow gates on our driveways is really great but (there is always a but) I would like the Coeur d'Alene City Council to change the snow plan and allow the gates to be used at community mailboxes.

In my neighborhood each box services 16 homes (at least 16 taxpayers). The post office will not deliver mail if they cannot drive up to the box. The post office has been pretty good so far this year but as time goes on the snow berms get bigger and bigger and this is going to be a real problem. Generally speaking the removal of the snow berms falls on those who are home (retired people).

While I am at it a little mercy at fire hydrants would be appreciated too. If others think this is a good idea a call to the city might be helpful.
