Olive Jane Viebrock, 81

Olive Jane Viebrock, of Rathdrum, 81, passed away on Dec. 7, 2010, at Sacred Heart Medical Center. She was born July 22, 1929, in Conrad, Mont., daughter of Orin and Bessie Crawford. Olive was one of two children.

Olive married Henry Viebrock Jr. on April 12, 1947. They lived in Hayden and had five children. In 1968 they moved to Rathdrum.

Olive worked at the CDA Tree Nursery for 17 years. She loved to grow beautiful gardens. She always had plenty of starts to share with family and friends. Her home was always surrounded by flowers and her garden produced a bounty that was shared by the whole family.

Olive taught Sunday School at Hayden Lake Community Church while living in Hayden. She taught sewing classes when her children were in 4-H.

Olive's greatest love was for her grandchildren. She would always make sure she watched their games and loved to spend time with them. She created a hand stitched baby blanket for each grandchild that is a treasure and will be remembered for generations. She also made afghans and blankets for the grandchildren as they got older.

Survivors include her loving husband, Henry Viebrock Jr. of Rathdrum; sister Louise Winn of Hayden; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Jon Harwood of Hayden; son Ronald Viebrock and Jan Jones of Yelm, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Donna Viebrock of Rathdrum; son and daughter-in-law James and Kay Viebrock of Rathdrum; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Olive was preceded in death by her son, Richard H. Viebrock in 1952.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, for close family and friends at Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Real Life Ministries, 1866 N. Cecil Road, Post Falls, to celebrate Olive's life.
