LEVY: Fodder for school czars

Let me get this straight. Our school super, Hazel Bauman, first decides that there are too many people taking too much time complaining at the board meetings, so in her great wisdom, she decides to limit the taxpayers speaking time at the meetings! In Friday's paper she could not understand why so few appeared to speak up at her "community chats."

Not only did only four out of 20 speak up, there wasn't any discussion about "the Levy." Well, Hazel, maybe people have had it with your dictatorial attitude and they will express their discontent when it comes time to vote for the levy. It seems to me that there is a school levy vote every six months in this county. Not only is there a vote for higher taxes (through the levy), it seems to me that the location of the voting polls is suspicious as well. How convenient that the polls are located at the schools, so all the parents can be ushered into the voting booth while dropping off "the children."

After receiving my recent tax statement and seeing that almost 60 percent of the taxing levies are school district related, I have had it with your constant whining about cutbacks etc. You now want to burden the taxpayers in Kootenai County with another $9.2 million bill! Haven't you been reading the news releases Hazel? We are in a recession because of many things such as, we are going to be gifted with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't. It was written by a committee whose chairman says he "doesn't understand it," passed by a Congress that didn't read it but had the wherewithal to exempt themselves and signed by a president who smokes!

Social Security and Medicare are already bankrupted and overseen by a surgeon general who is obese. With that being said, I feel that the taxpayers are getting tired of government getting bigger and more controlling rather than cutting taxes and reducing government! Get a clue Hazel! This type of governing is not what the majority wants. By the way...when do you come up for election...seems like you and your cronies are trying for a Dynasty!
