LABRADOR: Don't Ms. Represent him

| August 18, 2010 6:16 AM

As Ronald Reagan said, "Here We Go Again." The dogmatic Linda Cook is a soured woman, who was the North Idaho campaign manager for the failed campaign of Vaughn Ward. Her previous rant, printed on May 28 in the Readers Write section of the Coeur d'Alene Press, demonstrated that she is spiteful and has limited credibility.

These two charges that she has leveled at Raul Labrador are not new. They have been her two-note samba from day one when she was in full support of Labrador's opponent in the primary election. The old saying, in one ear and out the other probably describes her inability to hold the thoughtful statements made by Raul Labrador. Rep. Labrador has made it clear on more than one occasion that he is a secure-the-border-first proponent and in that spirit, believes troops should go there Now!

As for the Arizona Law, he has clearly projected what he would do as our Congressman. After all, Congress and the president have not done their job, causing Arizona to enact law that the Fed. Government should be enforcing. (Refer to Labrador's Press Statement on May 4, 2010; labrador4idaho.com). Who better to go to Congress than a Republican Hispanic immigration attorney who knows how to rectify the bleeding ulcer that is immigration. Moreover, Raul does not support amnesty.

The second note from Ms. Cook has been the Puerto Rico issue or should I say non-issue.

Have there been recent rumblings that Puerto Rico wishes Statehood? With all the critical problems facing our country, this is not one of them. In fact, one could make the case that Ms. Cook has similar views as Harry Reid, that no Hispanic could even be a Republican.

Raul Labrador is not just a great Republican, but an exemplary conservative. Check out his record in the Idaho Legislature. Actions always speak louder than words.

Ms. Cook, at best, is a divisive character who is unable to make reasonable arguments or assumptions. Her standing in the GOP political community should be seriously questioned.
