LABRADOR: Loyal to people of Idaho

| April 28, 2010 6:16 AM

Republican voters of Idaho can relax when trying to sort out which candidate to vote for in the 1st Congressional race. The Republican establishment has selected your candidate for you. Vaughn Ward is the chosen one.

First introduced to North Idaho well over one year ago by former Gov. Kempthorne, Vaughn is the man. It should not matter to Idahoans that Vaughn owns a house in Virginia, where he has lived with his wife for several years. He does rent a house in the 1st Congressional District of Idaho, so he’s legal.

It should not matter to Idahoans that over half of the money he has raised for this race comes from out-of-state donors, places like New York, Washington, D.C. and California. You can be sure his loyalty will always be with the people of Idaho.

It should not matter to Idahoans that his wife is employed by the federal government in Washington, D.C. (temporarily assigned in Idaho) and that Vaughn has been employed by the government for most of his adult life. He did take some time off to run John McCain’s failed presidential campaign in Utah.

The establishment wants Vaughn. Will independent thinking Idahoans go along or will they realize Rep. Raul Labrador is the right man for the job?
