David W. DiGiovanni, 58, passed away at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, on Sunday, April 4, 2010.
David was born in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 15, 1951, to Vincent and Helen (White) DiGiovanni.
David married Joyce Chapman on March 20, 1970, in Rockland, Mass.
He followed his father’s legacy and worked as a wholesale florist in Massachusetts; he would say that it was “only temporary” and work there for 37 years. In September 2005, he and his wife moved to Coeur d’Alene to be with his girls. Once here he decided to become a cars salesman because he was a true people person, everyone he liked him and he made a new friend no matter where he was. He took a job working for Findlay Hyundai.
David was a member of Trout Unlimited. He enjoyed fly fishing, playing in the woods and snow shoeing. He spent most of his time with the kids; his girls, they were his true joy.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Coeur d’Alene; daughter Melissa DiGiovanni of Coeur d’Alene; granddaughters Stella and Lilly; sister Sandra Norton of Massachusetts and brother Edward of Florida.
David is preceded in death by his parents and brother Albert.
A small gathering will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Lake City Senior Center in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d’Alene, is in charge of the arrangements
