Heyward's hit helps Braves rally past Rockies

Rookie Jason Heyward hit a two-run single with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth inning, lifting the Atlanta Braves to a 4-3 comeback win over the visiting Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

After being no-hit by Ubaldo Jimenez on Saturday night, the Braves didn't take long to show they wouldn't be held without a hit for the second straight game. Matt Diaz led off the first with a triple to center field. Martin Prado drove in Diaz with a sacrifice fly to left field.

Dodgers 2, Giants 1: Manny Ramirez hit a two-run, pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning for career homer No. 548 as Los Angeles beat visiting San Francisco.

Cardinals 5, Mets 3: Adam Wainwright threw a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and scored on Ryan Ludwick's tiebreaking two-run homer in the eighth inning as St. Louis beat visiting New York.

Marlins 2, Phillies 0: Nate Robertson outdueled Cole Hamels into the seventh inning and Dan Uggla drove in both runs with a homer and a double in Florida's second straight win at Philadelphia.

Pirates 5, Reds 3: Paul Maholm pitched four-hit ball into the seventh inning, Jason Jaramillo had a three-run double and Pittsburgh completed a three-game sweep of visiting Cincinnati.

Astros 3, Cubs 2, 10 inn: Pedro Feliz hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 10th inning after Geoff Blum tied it with an RBI double in the ninth as Houston rallied at Chicago.

Brewers 11, Nationals 7: Craig Counsell's grand slam highlighted a 10-run first inning, and Milwaukee held on at Washington.

Padres 5, Diamondbacks 3: Chase Headley hit a go-ahead, two-run double with two outs in the seventh and San Diego rallied for five runs to beat visiting Arizona.

• AMERICAN LEAGUE

Yankees 5, Rangers 2: Mark Teixeira hit his first home run of the season and Ramiro Pena delivered a key single while filling in for an ailing Derek Jeter, leading Andy Pettitte and host New York over Texas.

Rays 7, Red Sox 1: Matt Garza pitched shutout ball for eight innings, Carlos Pena and B.J. Upton each hit two-run homers and Tampa Bay won at Boston.

Royals 10, Twins 5: At Minneapolis, Alberto Callaspo had two home runs and a career-high six RBIs, and Kansas City beat Minnesota.

Indians 7, White Sox 4: Shin-Soo Choo hit a grand slam and drove in five runs, leading host Cleveland over Chicago.

Orioles 8, Athletics 3: Ty Wigginton homered and drove in four runs to help Baltimore win at Oakland and snap a nine-game skid.

Angels 3, Blue Jays 1: Ervin Santana came within one strike of a shutout and Los Angeles won at Toronto to complete a three-game sweep.
