PYP: Exercise freedom of choice

| April 16, 2010 10:00 PM

One of the greatest freedoms we have as Americans is our freedom of choice. We are fortunate to be able to live in a country where we can make independent choices whether it is where we live, the kind of car we drive or the education we choose for our children.

I have personally chosen to have my children attend Hayden Meadows, a school of choice. This is my right to have my children attend and receive a quality education at a PYP school. I am increasingly upset by a few who feel they have the right to make this choice, based on their own beliefs and opinions, for me and other parents who choose to have our children attend Hayden Meadows.

The Kolers have chosen to remove their children from an education environment they disagree with.  I don’t agree or disagree with their choice to do what they feel is best for their children. But please stop trying to make the choice for me and my children. I am a competent and capable parent able to make my own choices for my children’s education. You’ve made yours; let me and others who chose to send our children to Hayden Meadows have the right to make choices we feel are best for our children.

For anyone who has questions or concerns about Hayden Meadows and our PYP program, I invite you to visit our school, see our teachers teach, ask questions of our teachers and administrators. We have nothing to hide, but a lot to be PROUD of.
