Curtis Granderson led off the 10th inning with a tiebreaking homer off Jonathan Papelbon and the visiting New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Blue Jays 7, Rangers 4: At Arlington, Texas, Vernon Wells homered twice, leading Toronto past Texas.

Royals 3, Tigers 2, 11 inn.: Alberto Callaspo hit a tying homer to lead off the bottom of the 11th and pinch runner Willie Bloomquist scored on an error to lift host Kansas City past Detroit.

Indians 5, White Sox 3: Fausto Carmona allowed one hit over six innings and Cleveland won at Chicago.

Twins 4, Angels 2: At Anaheim, Calif., Carl Pavano pitched seven sharp innings and Minnesota beat Los Angeles.

Rays 4, Orioles 3: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Evan Longoria homered and drove in three runs, leading Tampa Bay past Baltimore.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Brewers 5, Rockies 4: Jim Edmonds had two hits and scored twice, leading host Milwaukee past Colorado.

Giants 10, Astros 4: Edgar Renteria had five hits, leading San Francisco at Houston.

Cardinals 6, Reds 3: Albert Pujols hit a tiebreaking single in the seventh inning and St. Louis won at Cincinnati.

Diamondbacks 5, Padres 3: At Phoenix, Kelly Johnson hit two homers, leading Arizona past San Diego.

Braves 3, Cubs 2: Chipper Jones hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning and Atlanta beat visiting Chicago.

Phillies 8, Nationals 4: Ryan Howard hit a two-run homer and an RBI double, and Philadelphia won at Washington.

Pirates 4, Dodgers 3, 10 inn.: Ronny Cedeno singled with the bases loaded and one out in the 10th, and Pittsburgh beat visiting Los Angeles.

Marlins 7, Mets 6, 10 inn.: Wes Helms slid home headfirst to barely beat Rod Barajas' sweeping tag, scoring on Ronny Paulino's pinch-hit single to help Florida win at New York.
