Photo by ANASTASIA SAHM The Sting SC 2016 Boys Yellow soccer team over the Mother’s Day Weekend made it to the semifinals at the 35th annual Bill Eisenwinter Hot Shot Tournament at the Plants Ferry Sports Complex in Spokane Valley. Saturday morning the Sting tied the Kittatas Valley Junior Soccer Assoc. BU9 3-3. Sting goals were scored by Atlas Lepley, Elijah Cine, and Jaxson Matheney. Saturday afternoon the Sting lost 8-3 to the Spokane Shadow Academy B16 Van Der Lawson. Goals were scored by Atlas Lepley, Drew Fulton and Elijah Cline. Sunday morning the Sting beat the Spokane Legacy Soccer Academy B16 Olsen 8-4 with goals scored by Atlas Lepley (2), Arius Bush (1), Gideon Lee (1), Jaxson Matherney (3), and Elijah Cline (1), bringing the Yellow team to the semifinals with an interclub match against the Sting SC 2016 Boys Black Team. The match ended with a Yellow team loss of 10-4 with goals scored by Jaxson Matheney (2), Atlas Lepley and Thomas Ely. On Wednesday, May 6 the Sting SC 2016 Boys Yellow team lost a league game against the CDA BVB U9 7-1, with the Sting goal scored by Jaxson Matheney.
