Sacred waters: Alameda's Hot Springs Retreat bathes in history of healing
It is long believed by Native Americans that the hot spring water carries sacred healing powers. Jesuit missionary Father de Smet was traveling through Little Bitterroot River Valley in 1842 when he came across the natural hot springs.
