When Darren "Day Day" Higgins, a 6-8 senior center and four-year varsity player, was lost for the season with a torn meniscus just before the district championship game, Lakeside boys basketball coach James Twoteeth turned to the next big man in the Knights' program and plugged him into the starting lineup.
