Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy tends to do things differently. When other high school students walked out on March 14, Charter students gathered in the commons area outside of class hours to discuss school shootings. Until recent years, Charter had consistently been ranked among the best public high schools in the nation.

COEUR d’ALENE — Earlier this year, a team of high achievers from Coeur d’Alene was pumped up to win a gold, silver, or bronze in their field of expertise. Their team had a proud history of winning medals in competitions with teams nationwide.
