Kim Cheeley labels seedlings at the Kootenai County Arbor Day Program. She met John Schwandt, co-chair of the Kootenai County Arbor Day Committee, when he came out to her house to measure a ponderosa pine tree. It turns out that her ponderosa is the biggest one in Coeur d’Alene. Cheeley’s granddaughter is in fourth grade at Bryan Elementary School and will be getting a seedling from Monday’s efforts.
