OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
MILLIE: Favorable consequences
Cool it folks — we need more letters like Millie’s. It may keep more of those kooks from coming up here. Maybe that was her motive (tongue in cheek) for writing it. She may even love it up here.
COLUMN: Stick to weather, Cliff
Cliff, you are full of comforting news. First the famine! Did you think we needed that? Second, since when have you become a financial forecaster? You are just full of positive news.
ARTICLE: Local is always better
I find it inexcuseable that the Press had to “import” an article for Thursday’s Outdoor section about Casting for Recovery in Sisters, Ore. Casting for Recovery is alive and well right here in North Idaho, and has …
DIVERSITY: One man's opinion
Please permit me to elaborate on the recent interview in The Coeur d’Alene Press regarding my critique of the PBS documentary “Our Private Idaho.”
CALM: Cheers for performance
The Coeur d’Alene Modern Theatre, formerly Lake City Playhouse, gave an outstanding performance of “All is Calm” (The Christmas Truce of 1914). The historical story was expertly told and the music was sung to perfe…
DIVERSITY: Plays on white guilt
I have never wished to respond to a letter posted in the newspaper, but this biased gay lobby diatribe blaming all ills on the “white man” (white factor) has sent me over the limit. Tony Stewart reflects the standa…
THANKS: Words of Washington
Thought it would be good to see how our first president, George Washington declared a national day of Thanksgiving, which in part read:

HOPEFULLY Millie is on her way back to California, and the ARFEE debacle is behind us. If so, I would like to express my opinion about an article in the Nov. 19 paper entitled: “Unauthorized immigrant numbers growi…
ELECTION: Hang your head, Idaho
Only 37 percent voted in the state of Idaho. Those too lazy or who couldn’t care less should be very ashamed of yourselves. This state is heavily populated by veterans who served this great nation of ours and who h…
COLUMN: Couldn't have said it better
I found the My Turn opinion by Bob McAdams regarding the article about Ruby Bridges, on point and excellent in all respects. My sentiments exactly.
VETERANS: Songs aren't disrespectful
Should I assume that all veterans are “war-mongers?” According to one veteran, the anti-war song “Blowing in the Wind” that was sung at a school concert on Veterans Day was disrespectful to veterans, because they h…
POLITICS: Proof of stupidity
A member of the Democratic Party recently stated publicly that “the American people are stupid.” If he’s referring to the majority of U.S. citizens, I couldn’t agree more. Look who’s in office (and for a second ter…
ELECTION: Need a real 3rd party
Idaho voted for the “Right to Work” law. Much said about “unions” being so powerful that they could force (?) people to join the union in order to work. In this last election, Idaho voters returned people to power …
