OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
LAG: Just blame Democrats
Although the confederate flag came down, hypocrisy over who put it up is in the spin cycle.
JURY: Serving should be voluntary
The dreaded letter from the jury commissioner arrived in the mail threatening three days in jail/$300 fine for refusing to participate as a juror. America, land of the free except for jury duty! Serving on a jury s…
RULING: Proof of too much power
The Supreme Court is out of control. The High Court is making its decisions based on the personal preferences of the judges — not on our existing laws or on our traditions. If a judge likes an idea then he or she d…
POSTAL: United we stand, too
Since the unrealistic congressional 10-year mandate in 2006 for the U.S. Postal Service to pre-fund future retirees’ health benefits 75 years into the future, which by the way no other agency is required to do, the…
RULING: Wrong for conservatives
The Idaho Human Rights Commission is jumping up and down with glee over the Supreme Court’s, with Obama’s praise, absurd ruling on gay marriage. Idahoans, don’t be fooled. Wood and Stewart are no friends of conserv…
RONMAN: Cool work, everyone
Thank you to all the medical staff and volunteers who helped out in the Ironman medical tent this year. We had quite an epic race this year with record-breaking extreme heat. The medical service you provided was no…
GIFT: Hair's a big thank you

JOBS: Millie lodges complaint
KTEC will train for free all these people to meet the demand for skilled heavy equipment.

COURT: Ruling invents a right
No longer living under written law… Man-with-man marriage is simply not addressed in the federal Constitution. This “right” is invented or thought produced. This makes its constitutional footing meaningless. It is …
FIREWORKS: Keep a lid on them
Each year there are some who go out and spend a good amount of money on fireworks to offer a “private display” to friends and family. For many years this has been tolerated and authorities look the other way — not …
COURT: Killing me slowly
Statistics say that in 20 years I should be dead. I am 67 now and hope I’ll be gone before our nation no longer exists.
PARADE: Move up start time
After finding it somewhat miserable to even walk from the air-conditioned car to the air-conditioned store Sunday and doing very little of anything in my not air-conditioned house, I thought I would throw out the i…
