OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
PARKING: Cd'A has a problem
My name is Mark Newman. I am a certified activity director at Royal Plaza Retirement Center, 2870 Juniper Drive, Lewiston, Idaho. As part of my duties I provide for my residents three big outings each year. This ye…
SOCIALISM: Here's what it will get you
It’s really sad that Karen Ball doesn’t think Socialism is “scary.”
THANKS: Vets get free breakfast
On our way to the Medal of Honor Highway Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, July 25, in St. Maries we decided to stop for breakfast at the Broken Egg in Coeur d’Alene. In our Marine Corps League Dress Uniform, enjoyi…
GOATS: What goes around
It takes a really SICK COWARD to attack a bunch of sweet little goats. As I try to live a vegan lifestyle, animals don’t need to die for my plate. So it really burns me up that you would inflict this type of horrid…
RECYCLE: We can all do it
My husband and I moved here almost 11 years ago. We have been taking newspapers, metal food cans, plastic stuff and mixed paper to Ramsey transfer station all this time. We live in a mobile home park (second one). …
CAMPING: A proposal for Idaho
I recently read the article in your paper about “Dispersed Camping” being offered in Montana. The article describes dispersed camping as an alternative area for people to camp when campgrounds are full. Often this …
LIGHTWORKS: Big idea for tiny houses
Great two-part article on LightWorks. It’s been a long time coming for our community. A program that truly rehabilitates, changing people with bad life habits into productive members of society and thereby reducing…

TATTOOS: They're not all bad
Timber Lockhart’s My Turn column was welcomed and answered my question of whether the younger generation ever read newspaper editorials. Hers was well thought out, not vindictive, and presented her case very well. …
BERRIES: Plenty for all pickers
The huckleberries were early this year. We picked the latter part of June and four of us picked on July 8. We picked almost 4 gallons in 3 and 1/2 hours. We still find huckleberries galore and too many government r…
HILLARY: A new campaign slogan
Hillary Clinton says she never received, nor did she send any classified documents from her personal server. The fact that not one, but two Inspectors General say she did is irrelevant. After all, she IS Hillary Cl…
RECYCLE: And here's an idea
I appreciate Mr. Mello’s frustration with some recycling of small paper, but most Idahoans don’t recycle anything. And his column just encourages more non-participation.
COLUMN: No sanctuary here
After reading the liberal drivel in the My Turn opinion column this past Saturday I think it would be safe to assume that the Gresslers would love to have Rathdrum designated a Sanctuary City just like San Francisc…
