OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
TRUMP: Distraction game
After a tough week about Russia, Trump has launched a distraction to get his meeting with Putin out of the news cycle. IRAN is threatening our security! By golly, I’ll be very tough with Iran, just watch!
DEMS: Party attack, cont.
Thank you, Grace, for your response to my “Damning Democrats” letter.
HELP: Community steps up
A couple weeks back, I sent a press release to The Press asking for help. The St. Vincent de Paul Help Center, which was the old Coeur d’Alene library, sees between 100-150 people every Monday through Friday. We ne…
POSTAL: Perils of privatizing
The U.S. Postal Service currently strives to operate on a “break even” and not-for-profit status, using no tax dollars to operate for everyone no matter where they live in the United States. Privatization of the US…
PO'D: Don't go there
I totally agree with Michelle McDaniels’ short note in today’s [July 18] newspaper. All of the negative comments get one response; p_ _ _ _ d off and what does that do to us? It just feeds our anger.
SWASTIKA: Symbol of hate
A swastika anyplace, particularly in the current times, can hardly be viewed as a prank. Soap suds in a school fountain may be a prank. Judging by the size of this racist symbol, it took some time and thought to do…
WHAT IF: Two can play

AMERICANS: This is US
The letter “damning Democrats” saddened me. The anger, accusations and veiled threats of the writer against democratic Americans is not who we are.
OXYGEN: A frustrated breather
This letter is to thank Bill Brooks for his help with my dilemma with my oxygen provider, Preferred Medical.
THANKS: Faith in spotlight
I wish to thank Bob Shillingstad for his Special to the Press articles on faith-based organizations. It is a special treat to read such uplifting articles about these organizations that operate mostly in the backgr…
DRIVERS: A motorcyclist's plea
When will the carnage stop? Another motorcyclist killed by an inattentive driver in a big hurry to go nowhere.
LETTERS: Bless you, writers
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading “Letters to the Editor” for the past three years and often respond with my own comment. Some of you have disagreed with me and perhaps thought I was an idiot. You just might be right…
DOGS: Bark for the park
As a daily user of Central Bark, the dog park off Atlas Road, I echo the sentiments of Katherine von Hagen. Perhaps the folks of Grace Bible Church can leave a part of the dog park, and still meet the needs of thei…
RUSSIA: Agents of chaos
Another day with Moscow on the Potomac. So, the Russians laundered money through the National Rifle Association using unregistered agents of the Russian government to fund not only the Trump campaign, but also othe…
