OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
FAMINE: Climate change dark side
Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth still dominates climate news. Sadly, Little Ice Age worldwide famine, compounded by population explosion, escapes media attention.
PARKING: Happy this isn't Chicago
It seems like a few people have a problem with the new downtown parking fees.
RUTHIE: Happy 95th birthday
Happy Birthday Ruthie. Memories! Another 95er.
FAIR: Thanks for free water ACI
Thank you ACI Northwest!
BUDGET: Can't sustain this debt
Twenty-eight senators, Sen. Risch included, had the courage to face their corporate contributors and vote against the open-ended “Bipartisan Budget.” The others are like bison stampeding toward a jump that will end…
BIBLE: Solution to problems
Gun rights are as sacred in this country as free thought and free speech. Japan allows NO guns and (naturally) has less shootings than the U.S. In Switzerland, nearly everyone has a gun and children can become mark…
GUNS: Response letter missed the point
I appreciate Doug Weir’s letter in response to my op-ed calling for a ban on the sale of assault weapons. He may have missed my point, which was that civilian versions of the M-16 cause catastrophic damage to tissu…
FAIR: More than fair, it was fun
As a newcomer to beautiful Coeur d’Alene I want to say, “Congratulations” to the “Fair Necessities” personnel and planners for a great fair experience.

REALTORS: No more 'Hunter's Paradise'
I’m appealing to Realtors to stop promoting their land listings as “Hunter’s Paradise…,” etc. I’ve seen this too often and it’s painful to read the suggestion or assumption that someone’s intention would be to buy …
DEBT: Relief is not free
As you well know from time to time, I express my thoughts via letter to the editor with emphasis on freedom as provided to us in the Bible and the U.S. Constitution.
GUNS: Where will ban stop?
Jim Jones, former attorney general and former chief justice of the Idaho Supreme Court, didn’t even try to explain why a ban of the most popular rifle in the United States would survive a constitutional challenge. …
DEFINITIONS: Proud to be a nationalist
Nationalist. Nationalism. Just what is the media referring to? I actually looked it up in Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language. Nationalism — 1. Devotion to one’s nation. 2. The doctrine that nat…
