OPINION: Just like everyone else, Idaho’s Attorney General must comply with the law
Three years ago, I joined five other former Idaho Attorneys General in describing that important position as “the …
PYP: Appointed and disappointed
“American Exceptionalism,” is a term that was used by an anti-PYP speaker at the school board meeting. I agree that America is indeed an exceptional country. I am proud to be an American, but the America that I lov…
PYP: Promise wasn't kept
I sat stunned at Monday night’s school board meeting as the trustees voted to eliminate the PYP program at Hayden Meadows. As a proud Hayden Meadows parent I believe the board failed our children.
EASTON: We had a real blast
Reading your ongoing, and recent, articles on Camp Easton brings back a few memories.
OBAMA: Warning to his critics
Ms. Johnson, reading your letters, I don’t think you missed a thing in your assessment on how the president has tried to destroy this country in the last almost four years. Ms. Johnson, be ready to get some blow ba…
PYP: A vote for homogeneity
I was quite disappointed to read of the Coeur d’Alene school board’s decision to shut down PYP. In eliminating this program, this apparently single-minded board has taken another step toward homogenizing and margin…
PYP: Trustees got it right
I attended the Coeur d’Alene school board PYP meeting. This is what I observed: The room was divided about 50/50 proponents vs. opponents of IB/PYP. If you took the Hayden Meadows teachers out of the equation, the …
PYP: Looking forward to May

ABORTION: Does GOP support gays?
Abortion? Pro or con? Right or wrong? But that is not the question. Thanks to Mr. Akin’s ignorance and inane remarks about legal rape we have been alerted to the subject of abortion.
BALLOT: Vote no on HJR2
I am distressed that many Idaho citizens are unaware of measure HJR2 appearing on November’s ballot. HJR2 has an interesting history but suffice it to say, it was pushed through legislation as an “emergency” and no…
BARBIERI: Can't have it both ways
In reference to a recent Spokane newspaper article about District 2 candidates in Idaho, Vito Barbieri has much to say about his belief in “no compromise.” Yet he compromises this principle all the time. He says he…
