PROPS: Coaching voters to say yes
Alethea Lynch’s letter about Coach Akey was absolutely “SPOT ON” the money. After reading it I knew I had to write my own letter.
MOVIE: Gonna miss this one
There is a movie coming out on the National Geographic Channel on Nov. 2, just days before the election. The movie is about the Navy SEALs that finally got Bin Laden and killed him. Harvey Weinstein is the money be…
HR1322: Needs Labrador's vote
I voted for Raul Labrador as my congressman in the last election. I have tried without response to contact him relative to HR 1322. This bill in the House stops cold companies that would throw retirees under the bu…

I would like to thank Elizabeth Gill for writing a very clear and respectful letter addressing the upcoming Northern Lakes Fire District override levy. It voiced concerns that many, if not all taxpayers have in reg…
AKEY: Sympathy isn't running deep
I read with interest your comment, Coach Robb Akey, that you could use the lost $105,000 to feed your family. I was reminded of my first high school coaching job and the pay. I was assigned to coach JV football, ba…
WAGE: Minimum just isn't enough
I think that the cost of day care is way too much and over priced just for part-time hours. Especially if you’re a single mother and you are a full-time student. Plus, having a job and only making $7.50 an hour. Th…

VANDALS: Hard but good decisions
I moved to this area two years ago and have been following Idaho athletics and am now a fan. I want to applaud Rob Spear and Duane Nellis for their decision to replace Robb Akey. Firing anyone is not an easy decisi…
PYP: One size doesn't fit all
I believe the decision to cut IB and PYP from our schools was very short-sighted. Parents in our district have the ability to move their child to another school, therefore relieving them from the curriculum they di…
PARENTS: Standing up for their kids
I wanted to ignore the letter from Julia Potee, a Junior High School teacher who was responding to Faith Normington’s letter, but I decided I just couldn’t let this go. Julia says that Faith’s letter was “utterly r…
