New Post Falls dance studio featured in film

A new Post Falls-based dance studio, Coeur Dance Arts, is featured in a film titled "Take a Leap," which will screen as part of the North Idaho Film Festival on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverstone Regal Cinema.

"Take a Leap," written by Scarlet and Marie Hunt and directed by Ashley Howard, features professional choreography and local dancers from Coeur Dance Arts.

“Filming was such a great experience,” said Gina Strobel, a dancer at Coeur Dance Arts who stars in the film. “Dancing always brings me joy, but getting to dance with friends for a film was a new adventure that I will never forget. It’s always fun to get glammed up and tap!”

Coeur Dance Arts opened in August 2026 after facing setbacks due to COVID-19. The studio offers classes in ballroom, tap, hip-hop, ballet, dance fitness and more. Classes are available for all ages and experience levels.

“We want people to know that you don't have to be a certain age, have a certain body type, or have years of experience to belong in a dance studio,” said Coeur Dance Arts co-founder Kasie Corley. “Whether you're taking your very first class, returning to something you loved years ago, or working toward performing on stage, there is a place for you here.”

Being featured in "Take a Leap" is an important opportunity for Coeur Dance Arts as it continues to expand its visibility in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene.

“We opened Coeur Dance Arts because we wanted to create a community and place where other people could connect and grow together,” said Coeur Dance Arts co-founder and director Mary Owens.
