Forest Cemetery brings North Idaho history to life

COEUR d’ALENE — The Museum of North Idaho invites the community to step into the past at Forest Cemetery Comes Alive, a one-night-only event that brings the stories of some of North Idaho’s most memorable residents to life.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, visitors will walk through Coeur d’Alene’s historic Forest Cemetery, where actors portraying historical figures will share their stories, experiences, and connections to the community.
Among the historical figures visitors will encounter are Louise Shadduck and Frederick Blackwell, along with other notable individuals from North Idaho’s past.
Rather than simply reading names and dates on a headstone, guests will hear directly from the characters who helped shape the region. The evening offers a unique way to experience local history while exploring one of Coeur d’Alene’s oldest cemeteries.
Forest Cemetery Comes Alive builds on the Museum’s popular Forest Cemetery Walking Tours, which explore stories of murders, outlaws, and other fascinating characters from North Idaho’s past.
