The 5-foot-10 sophomore outside hitter from Post Falls High recorded her first collegiate double-double with 10 kills, 10 digs and an ace for the NCAA Division II Seawolves in her return to Idaho, a four-set loss to Northwest Nazarene University in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play Saturday in Nampa. Alaska Anchorage is 9-5, 2-2 GNAC. Byrne has seen action in 12 of 14 matches this year for Alaska Anchorage. As a freshman, Byrne saw action in 14 matches late in the season for the Seawolves, who advanced to the NCAA D-II tournament.

Washington Commanders

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound tight end from Coeur d'Alene High made his first reception of the season Sunday in a 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas. It was a 14-yard catch from Jayden Daniels to the Dallas 40 late in the first quarter, and led to a field goal. Yankoff, an undrafted free agent in his third season with Washington who plays on four special teams, had two catches for 18 yards last year. The Commanders play host to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday (10 a.m., KAYU) in Landover, Md.

Peters, a senior from Post Falls High, finished 21st in Saturday's John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., coming in with a time of 20 minutes, 36.3 seconds after running down four competitors in the final stretch.
