AI: Scare tactic for control?

Novelist Michael Crichton wrote 20 science-based novels like “Jurassic Park,” “The Andromeda Strain” and others. 

One of his books was “State of Fear.” The book is about what Crichton felt is the wrongful theory that humans are the cause of global warming. The premise of the book is that if they can get you to fear something they can control you, ala global warming, COVID, and now, artificial intelligence?
