Self-service DMV kiosk comes to Cd'A

Residents of North Idaho now have a new way to skip a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles, with the region’s first DMV self-service kiosk now open inside Fred Meyer.

The kiosk is part of a statewide rollout to bring quick, convenient DMV services directly to places Idahoans already visit as part of their daily routines. The Coeur d’Alene location joins several other kiosks available at grocery stores throughout Idaho.

"Anytime you don't have to go to the DMV, it's a very good thing," Roberta Remington said Friday.

Customers can use the kiosk to renew eligible standard vehicle registrations and print their new registration on the spot.

Idaho State Parks Passport customers can also add a Parks Passport as part of an eligible vehicle registration renewal at the kiosk, with the corresponding window sticker printed as part of the transaction. Parks Passports are not currently available as a standalone kiosk transaction.

This new self-service experience is part of the Idaho Transportation Department's ongoing effort to modernize customer service and give Idahoans quicker, easier and more flexible options to complete DMV transactions without making a separate trip to a DMV office.

For now, kiosk services are limited to select vehicle registration renewals. Updates to personal or vehicle information are not currently available. Additional locations and services are planned as the statewide kiosk program continues to expand.
