Jungle Relics hosts 'Midnight Market'

Angel Singh and Ryan Doran, co-owners of art shop and cafe Jungle Relics, are hosting a new art market during Oktoberfest this weekend, featuring about 20 local art vendors, three live DJs and a food vendor. The Midnight Market will be open Friday, Sept. 18, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 19, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“We wanted to try to do a market for Halloween and have a whole bunch of vendors,” said Angel Singh. 

Singh said artists will bring plenty of witchy and Halloween-themed gifts to the market including ceramics, flash tattoos, photography, soaps, textiles, crystals and jewelry among many more. Vendors will be spread across the indoor space of Jungle Relics, as well as the parking lot outside.

Healing Leaf Apothecary will host a workshop during the Midnight Market allowing guests the opportunity to create their own sage smudge sticks, which are used for cleansing and purification.

Angel and Ryan are embedded in the artistic community of Coeur d’Alene, and are involved in many art events in the city. As artists in their own right, they are dedicated to supporting local artists and bring an artistic vision to their business. 

Jungle Relics is filled with unique art and plants and also features a speakeasy coffee shop serving a specially curated small plates menu. 

“When we opened our business, the whole purpose is to travel through a little jungle like you’re Indiana Jones and find your treasure,” said Singh. “We wanted to make it very experiential.”

Admission to the Midnight Market is free. Jungle Relics regular opening hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit junglerelics.com to learn more.
