ELECTION: Importance of our voice and choice

As our nation approaches the upcoming midterm election, every citizen must remember that our most fundamental democratic power is our voice and our choice at the ballot box. At this critical juncture, we cannot afford passive representation or silence.

We are watching foreign conflicts spiral while our government fails to provide transparency to the public. The administration’s aggressive posture has unnecessarily alienated and bullied long-term allies, leaving key international partners refusing access to their military bases. Meanwhile, damaged bases in the Middle East and squandered military resources leave our country increasingly vulnerable  a situation that directly serves the strategic interests of adversaries like China and Russia.

Compounding this crisis is a Congress that appears more afraid of losing its jobs than actually doing them. Through frequent recesses, government shutdowns, and absenteeism, lawmakers have abdicated their core constitutional duties: exercising oversight, asserting war powers, and managing the power of the purse. Instead of serving as a robust check on executive authority, representatives have allowed administrative overreach to go unchecked.

We need leadership willing to uphold the Constitution, enforce accountability, and stand up for the law. This midterm election is our opportunity to demand better. Let us exercise our voice and choice at the polls to elect leaders who will restore checks and balances and truly serve the American people.
