Post Falls man dies in crash

A Post Falls resident died in crash in Rathdrum late Monday.

According to the Idaho State Police, a 23-year-old man was driving a 2024 Yamaha R7 motorcycle on Highway 53 when the motorcycle left the roadway on the right shoulder and struck a road sign. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. at the junction of highways 53 and 41.

The Rathdrum Police Department, Northern Lakes Fire Department, and Kootenai County Coroner’s Office assisted ISP at the scene. Highway 53 was closed temporarily.

An investigation continues.
