REPS: Need ones who will say 'no!'

We need members of Congress who are willing to stand up and say NO when presidential actions put politics, vanity, or personal legacy ahead of the American people.

We need a Congress willing to question billions spent on unnecessary projects, symbolic name changes, and lavish construction — including a $400 million White House ballroom. We need representatives willing to challenge military actions they believe are unnecessary and demand accountability for how our tax dollars are spent.

The president is not a king. Our Constitution divides power among the branches, and Congress holds the power of the purse. The president is responsible for faithfully executing the laws — not simply doing whatever he chooses.

Unfortunately, I don’t see enough of that backbone from our Idaho senators, Mike Crapo and Jim Risch. Idaho deserves representatives who will fight for affordable health care, lower costs, responsible government spending, and the interests of ordinary Idahoans.

We don’t need politicians sitting on their hands. We need representatives willing to stand up, speak out, and fight for us.
