PROP 1: Vote yes! Trust women with their health

I am writing in response to Jan Studer’s well written My Turn submission in the Sept. 4th publication. Voting yes on Prop 1 lets a woman and her healthcare provider, navigate her pregnancy; one of the most personal and life-changing events in a woman’s life. As pointed out by Jan, it is impossible to legislate for each and every unique pregnancy, yet that is what a pregnant woman faces here in Idaho. The pregnant woman and her caregivers who know her, and her unique circumstances, should be the only players in this life changing event. 

I am not a Devil, which I have been called for my support of this piece of legislation. I trust that women soul search when considering bringing a life into the world. I trust women in consultation with their health care providers will look at the unique circumstances of their pregnancy and will make thoughtful, heartfelt decisions. There is no place for government in this decision.
