POST FALLS: Change schools these ways
This community has watched as our Post Falls Public Schools beg for ever more cash without ever a mention of the need for vast educational improvements. Four years ago, I attended some of the Post Falls School Board meetings and was ‘allowed’ to speak for only five minutes. Why? No other parents attended. Since, Post Falls schools have opted to ‘Graduate’ students unable to read at grade level and have changed from a five-day to a four-day school week?
Just who or what has allowed school boards to limit discussions to five minutes? Who has said that districts need not answer citizen efforts to improve our public schools? I opted to not return after attending school board meetings, and, now look at the very troubled decisions. Some solutions follow:
1. Install TV “monitors” in all PF classrooms — to ensure that ‘only parent approved’ subjects are addressed in classes.
2. Change the school week back to five days or reduce teacher pay by 20% (thus paying for the funds shortcoming requested for levy).
3. Fail students who cannot read at grade level. Note: Its amazing how their efforts will change.
4. Allow ‘trained’ teachers to “carry” a weapon in our PF schools.
5. School Board Meetings “are” also for the public! So are their solutions/suggestions. Listen!
