ELECTIONS: Truth, values matter

The upcoming elections, whether local or national, matter. Whichever political party you aspire to, is not as important as truth. Values are what is important and, for me, those values come from God.

Evaluate what the news and people running for office say. Whether it is from a Supreme Court Justice, who does not know what a woman is or your local news, listen to what they say.

Do they promise to take from one person and give it to another? When asked a question, do they change the subject and never give an answer? Do they promise things you know are impossible? Do they suggest everything will be free, with no tax increase?

Unfortunately, we can no longer trust the news media or even some of our politicians. So how do we decide?

Where do their values come from?  Are they motivated by self-interest? Is their hatred of another party their sole purpose to ignore right from wrong?

Most of our traditional values come from the Ten Commandments. If you say that is not true, then where did your current values come from?

I am not saying you can not vote for someone who does not believe in God. So what is their value system based on? Are they motivated by self preservation, greed or just plain power?

If it is just power, we just have to look around the world and see the kind of power that comes from just one person such as Russia, China, Korea or Iran. 

Coincidentally, these are nations who do not believe in God.
