Ski Idaho youth passports on sale for 2026-27 season
KELLOGG — Online registration for the Idaho Peak Season Passport, Ski Idaho's popular fifth- and sixth-grade youth-access initiative, has opened at skiidaho.us/passports for the 2026-27 ski and snowboard season.
New this winter is early bird pricing, with Ski Idaho passports initially costing $29 but rising to $49 after Dec. 20.
The Idaho Peak Season Passport lets fifth-graders ski or snowboard three days for free at 18 Gem State ski areas and it gives sixth-graders two free days at each. The only Ski Idaho destination that doesn't participate is Rotarun in Hailey, because the nonprofit ski area offers many no-cost and low-cost opportunities to ski and ride throughout winter, including $10 lift tickets for kids and a free Community Ski Night every Wednesday.
The Idaho Ski Areas Association launched the youth-access initiative in the northern part of the state in 1998, and it expanded the program in 2005 to include mountains in southern and eastern Idaho. It is open to any fifth- or sixth-grader from any state -- NOT just Idaho kids -- as well as children ages 10-12 from any country.
Silver Mountain Resort general manager and ISAA board president Jeff Colburn said the Idaho Peak Season Passport offers families a tremendous value -- even when the price increases to $49 on Dec. 20. For fifth-graders, the overall value is upwards of $2,600 and around $1,800 for sixth-graders.
"Idaho offers some of the most incredible skiing and snowboarding on Earth, and Ski Idaho's Idaho Peak Season Passport makes it far easier for families to take advantage of our wonderful wintertime bounty," Colburn said. "You'd be hard pressed to find a more family friendly destination or a better value in North American skiing and snowboarding."
