The city of Post Falls is fundraising to purchase a nativity scene to be placed among the Christmas decor at City Hall.
"I believe we can come together as a community to make our area better without always turning to tax dollars," said Post Falls Mayor Randy Westlund. "I believe it's vital that we protect and cherish our nation's sacred traditions."
The city has raised nearly $5,000 and is more than halfway to its goal of $8,000. Westlund said he hopes to meet the goal by Oct. 23 so the set can be ordered in time for Christmas.
