| October 17, 2026 1:00 AM

Cheryl Ann Sprague, 57, passed away Sept. 24, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, strength, and devotion to family.

Born on Nov. 3, 1968, in Billings, Mont., Cheryl was the youngest of three children born to Kenneth Cox and Sonja (Ritter) Gardner. She grew up in Paradise Valley and the Bitterroot Valley of Montana, as well as Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Blessed with a beautiful singing voice and a deep Christian faith, Cheryl attended Portland Bible School in Portland, Ore., in 1987. She met her future husband, Joshua Sprague, a few years later in Portland. They were married on July 11, 1998, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and built a life centered on faith, family, love, and music.

Cheryl was a devoted wife and loving mother to her two sons, Landon and Hudson. Music was woven throughout their family life, creating cherished memories and bringing them together through their shared love of music and faith.

Cheryl will be remembered for her faithfulness, optimism, forgiveness, resilience, inspiring spirit, and unwavering commitment to those she loved and the things she believed in.

She loved traveling, beautiful shoes and purses, and her favorite sugar cookies. Her lifelong affection for shoes and purses began in childhood and remained a charming part of her personality throughout her life.

Although a portion of her life was spent fighting for health and wellness, her life was ultimately a reflection of God’s love, her faith, and the lives she touched.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Joshua Sprague; their two sons, Landon and Hudson Sprague; her parents, Sonja Gardner and Kenneth Cox; her sister, Brenda Duffus; her brother, Thomas Cox; and extended family and dear friends.

Her family takes comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and the hope of being reunited with her again. Cheryl’s memory and legacy live on in the hearts and lives of those who love her.

Cheryl’s celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, at 10 a.m. at The Heart Church, 772 W. Kathleen Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Please sign Cheryl's online guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
