Little leads in fundraising
The race for Idaho governor features three main candidates: Republican incumbent Brad Little, independent John Stegner and Democrat Terri Pickens. Campaign finance reports filed with the Idaho Sunshine system show a wide gap in fundraising.
Brad Little, R, incumbent
Little has raised a record $2.4 million, the most of any statewide candidate this cycle. Roughly half of the money comes from individual people, around $1.25 million, and half from businesses and companies, around $1.1 million. About $1.8 million of the total is from Idaho donors, with roughly $600,000 coming from out of state.
“The support we continue to receive is deeply humbling,” Little said in a press release.
Major contributors include:
• Kelsey Little and David Little - $10,200 each
• Bennett Lumber Products - $10,000
• Idaho Power - $10,000
• KF Hodges Operations LLC - $10,000
• Boatique Boathouse Collection LLC - $10,000
• Idaho Association of Realtors - $10,000
• Clearwater Paper - $10,000
• Idaho Bankers Association - $10,000
• Findlay (Henderson, Nev.) - $10,000
John Stegner, I
Stegner has raised about $540,000. The vast majority, around $513,000, comes from individual people. Business contributions total only around $23,000. Roughly $370,000 is from Idaho donors, with the rest from out of state.
Major individual donors include several individual $5,000 gifts:
• John Schroeder - $5,000
• Mary Lezamiz - $5,000
• Rory Jones - $5,000
• Lawrence Stone - $5,000
• T. Tate and Lauren Tate - $5,000 each
• James Carlson - $5,000
• David Pate - $5,000
Terri Pickens, D
Pickens has raised about $247,000, nearly all of it, $227,000, comes from individuals. Pickens has received around $12,000 from businesses. Nearly all of her contributions, around $237,000, come from Idaho donors.
Major contributors include:
• Bill Carter - $5,000
• Douglas Carnahan - $5,000
• Pickens Law PA, her own firm - $10,000
• Laura Miller - $5,042.51
• Clay Kenan Kirk - $3,500
• Teressa Schiers - $3,370
• Brian Shields - $3,320
• Gary Multanen - $5,500
• Cheryl Miller - $3,238.27
• Susie and AJ Balukoff - $5000 each
Little holds a large fundraising lead and draws significant support from both individuals and businesses. Stegner and Pickens rely overwhelmingly on donations from the public rather than companies. All figures come from the Idaho Sunshine campaign finance reports.
