The Kootenai County Democrats' annual food drive is coming up.
Now in its seventh year, the effort includes collecting non-perishable food, household goods as well as cash and checks to benefit food banks in Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls.
The drive will be held at Ramsey Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers will be on hand to unload donations.
“Please join us in supporting our fellow community members by dropping off your donations of non-perishable food items, or your cash or check donations,” said Cathy Kraus, club president. “Financial donations allow the food banks to purchase healthy perishable items such as fruits and vegetables.”
During last year’s food drive, the citizens donated over $9,000 of food and goods.
