Smelterville woman dies after I-90 crash near Cataldo

An 85-year-old woman from Smelterville has died following a crash on Monday near Cataldo.

According to the Idaho State Police, the woman was westbound in a 2001 Toyota Corolla near milepost 36 on Interstate 90 about 1:30 p.m. Monday. A 1996 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 68-year-old Wallace man, was also westbound and crashed into the Corolla. 

The woman was transported to a hospital, where she died on Thursday. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

An investigation continues.
