Idaho Rivers United sets Cd'A cleanup for Saturday
COEUR d’ALENE — Idaho Rivers United's first community cleanup in Coeur d’Alene is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
In partnership with the Kootenai Environmental Alliance, Friends of Tubbs Hill and Coeur d’Alene Parks and Recreation, the organization invites residents, families and community groups to help protect and restore the region’s shorelines.
The volunteer effort will focus on removing litter and debris from the beaches and public trails surrounding Lake Coeur d’Alene, as well as along the banks of the Spokane River.
"Idaho’s rivers and lakes are places where we connect, relax and make memories with family and friends," said Lindsey Paynter, volunteer and engagement manager with Idaho Rivers United. "We’re looking forward to bringing people together on Oct. 10 to give a little care back to the waterways we all love."
Volunteers can meet at City Park and the East Tubbs Hill parking lot.
Following the cleanup, volunteers are invited to an appreciation social from 1 to 3 p.m. at Vantage Point Brewing Co.
