Hayden Lake Marathon on Saturday.

The Hayden Lake Marathon is scheduled Saturday.

Hundreds of runners will be competing in the full 26.2-mile marathon that starts at 7:30 a.m., the half marathon at 8, the kids fun run at 8:05, the quarter marathon at 8:30 and the 5K at 8:45. All races start and finish at the Honeysuckle Beach boat launch.

The marathon circles Hayden Lake, while the other distances include some of the same route.

"Experience one of North Idaho’s most picturesque settings, with courses winding around the crystal-clear waters of Hayden Lake and through forests of towering pines," according to the event's website.

Donations will support the Lake City High School cross-country team, which provides volunteers who support runners on race day.

Registration for each distance stays open until 30 minutes prior to its start time.

Weather conditions look good for Saturday, with partly sunny skies, lows around 40 and highs in the mid-50s.
