Two injured in crash near Cataldo

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash which occurred Monday at 1:30 p.m. on Interstate 90 westbound near milepost 36.

According to an ISP press release, a silver 2001 Toyota Corolla, driven by an 85-year-old female from Smelterville was traveling westbound on the interstate. A white 1996 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 68-year-old male from Wallace was also traveling westbound on the Interstate. 

The pickup truck crashed into the Corolla. The driver of the Corolla sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local area hospital via air ambulance for treatment. The driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene then released.

The interstate was blocked for approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes while responders worked at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation.
