PREP SOCCER: Charter girls edge Grangeville; Timberlake, Bonners girls tie

GRANGEVILLE — Senior Sierra Sheppard's goal early in the second half proved to be the difference as the visiting Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy Panthers edged the Grangeville Bulldogs 1-0 in Intermountain League play Friday.
Coeur d'Alene Charter (10-4-1, 10-2-1) IML plays at Orofino today to wrap up the regular season.
"We always start off a little slow when we travel down to Grangeville," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. "We controlled most of the game, and got ourselves in a good scoring position quite frequently. However, we struggled with finishing today. Sierra had a great left-footed shot to put us up one after the half. Many more opportunities after that, but we couldn’t find the back of the net again. But a win is a win and we’re happy with that."
Grangeville is 8-6, 8-5.
