IDAHO: About the State Gun

| October 2, 2026 1:00 AM

I was distressed to find that Idaho was not among the 10 states with a state gun. Therefore, my suggestion for the November ballot is the German MG-42, developed in 1936 and used in World War II. It is capable of firing up to 1,800 rounds/minute, therefore just the thing for your average Idaho household or avid hunter. Of course, at that rate the barrel overheats and must be changed thereby reducing the rate of fire to a measly 1,000/minute or so, depending on the dexterity of the gunman. Still, a must for your everyday, run-of-the-mill Idaho hunter.
