CHOIR: 3Cs Coeur d’Aleers members are overwhelmed

The 3Cs Coeur d’Aleers Choir, send a big thank you to all of our friends, families & groupies from our community who came to our free concerts at Trinity Lutheran church on 5th Street on Tuesday afternoon, April 28 and Friday evening, May 1. The title of our concert was “Music Music Music,” which is what we love, love, love — thanks to the imagination of our Director Sheila Wayman who does an amazing job with her pick of a wide variety of music. And combined with our accompanist Ruth Clark they are unbeatable keeping us together and in tune!

We can’t thank our amazing community enough who contributed over $8500 — a combination of buying ads for our annual program booklet, buying raffle tickets and goodwill donations.  All moneys are given directly to the compassionate efforts of the 3Cs (Cancer and Community Charities).  Every year the 3Cs gives OVER $100,000 to local charities and we are pleased to be a part of that each year.

And we give a big thank you to Trinity Lutheran Church for letting us use their beautiful sanctuary to practice each week and to hold our four concerts each year. 

 We are warmed by all of your support! Thank you!!

KC FIRE AND RESCUE: Thanks for assistance

On Sunday, May 3, we had just finished dinner and were playing cards with friends around 7 p.m., when suddenly a smoke alarm went off. It startled us all, but we knew it was the battery. The alarm that went off was at least 12 feet up, and my husband could not get on a ladder to change the battery — he recently had two knee replacements.

We called Kootenai County Fire and Rescue. Within 10 minutes, three young men showed up to change the battery, only to discover the smoke alarms were all expired. While they were removing the old alarms, Charlie went to Walmart and bought six new ones, and they installed them all. They were happy to help us, wished us a good evening and went on their way.

We can't thank them enough. God bless Kootenai County Fire and Rescue.
