Infrastructure work approved for the Coeur d’Alene Idaho Temple

COEUR d'ALENE — Preliminary utility and infrastructure work to support the future Coeur d’Alene Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is underway following approvals from the city of Coeur d’Alene, according to a Friday press release from the church.

City approvals allow the church to begin initial site preparation work, including grading and the installation of underground utility infrastructure such as water, sewer and electrical service connections to the city’s existing systems. Design work on the temple continues, and a date for a groundbreaking ceremony has not yet been announced.

“Today marks a sacred milestone for our community,” said President Bradley Moss of the Post Falls Idaho Stake. “The approval to begin the early site work for construction of the Coeur d’Alene Temple is an answer to many prayers. We believe it will be a beacon of faith, hope and peace for all who seek to draw closer to the Savior. We are honored to witness this moment in our region’s history.

The future temple will serve members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout North Idaho and the Inland Northwest. Temples are considered houses of the Lord where members participate in sacred religious ordinances centered on Jesus Christ, families and eternal peace.
