Torch Run comes to North Idaho

The Post Falls portion of the Law Enforcement Torch Run takes place at 10 a.m. Tuesday between Grassland Avenue and Vandal Street on the North Idaho Centennial Trail and the Post Falls Police Department substation at 1717 E. Polston Ave., in Tedder Business Center.
Special Olympic athletes and law enforcement members will carry the Flame of Hope, which will wind its way through the state, stopping in more than 20 Idaho communities to advocate for people with disabilities and inclusion.
Paired officers and athletes will run with the torch and hand it off like a relay to the next pair, with distances spanning about a mile.
Idaho Special Olympics State Summer Games take place May 29 and 30 in Nampa.

Bonners Ferry: 9 a.m. from Liberty Gas Station 6856 S. Main St., Bonners Ferry to Boundary County Middle School 6577 Main St.
Sandpoint: noon from the Long Bridge North End to Long Bridge South End.
Rathdrum: 3 p.m. from Rathdrum City Park 15456 N. Latah St., Rathdrum to Les Schwab Tire Center 13500 W. Highway 53.
May 12:
Shoshone County: 1 p.m. from Wallace I-90 Exit 63 pullout to Wallace Visitor Center (exit 61).
