KCRCC: Republicans with real Kootenai history

| May 6, 2026 1:00 AM

Well its that time of year again when we get to exercise our right to vote. Unfortunately you will find that although the state of Idaho is red there is a great effort to turn it blue and it is intentional and deceptive. I’m not sure if you have noticed but the Republican Party here in Kootenai County actually has two parties and they are quite different. The Kootenai County GOP Central Committee known as the KCRCC and the North Idaho Republicans. It is quite confusing. I moved here in 2014 when there was only one party, the KCRCC, but there appeared to be a battle within the party that was on display in this newspaper, the Cd’A Press.

Approximately five years ago the split became official and a new Republican Party announced itself. The North Idaho Republicans mailed an official ballot card that duplicated the KCRCC’s ballot in size, color and style. The only difference was the choice in candidates. I was shocked that their deception was so blatant. Their effort to confuse the people especially new residents was appalling. With the help of the Idaho Freedom Foundation I could distinguish how incumbents vote and research issues that are important to me.

I found that the KCRCC that has proven to be the true conservative leader for decades and is the party that most aligns with my conservative views.
